Shareware Review for January 1997:
| This months Shareware is an AutoCAD
macro player from Command
Software & Consulting. Even if you have not one minute of AutoLISP, DIESEL or
Windows "Hot Key" programming experience, this program will get your most
frequently used commands automated in hurry. The name of the program is AutoHook13, and it is an excellent and fast way to get the commands that you use most into a "Hot Key" macro format. Autohook13 is a keyboard macro player that runs along side of AutoCAD release 13 on the Windows NT and Win 95 operating systems. After downloading the Ahook13.zip (you can download the newest 2.5 version ZIP compression software from PKWare, Inc. by clicking here) file, which is about 60 Kbytes, unzip this file in its own directory and click on the Ahook13.exe then launch AutoCAD. You know AutoHook is operational if you see the word *Hooked* next to the AutoCAD file name in the upper left corner. In order to invoke a macro, simply maximize Autohook13 and in the Key Assignment field type in the key or key combinations that you would like the macro assigned to. Once you have done that, in the Macro Definition field, type in the command or commands that you want AutoCAD to perform, all of this can be done on the fly. One thing you will need to be sure of, is that you include spaces in the macro command sequence, that you type in, where AutoCAD requires an Enter key stroke, especially at the end of the last command in the sequence. Autohook13 comes with several pre-assigned macros and for the power users, the .ini file is independent of all other applications so you can edit it instead of loading the fields in the dialog box. This program is Shareware, you have 21 days to evaluate this program. Command Software and Consulting is requiring a $19.00 registration fee for a single seat license and will give you a price break for additional seats. |
